Today is Election Day in many states all of the United States of American. If you are a registered voter, please make every effort to get out and vote. If your child is able to stand and wait quietly, this is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate what it looks like to vote in our great country. Here are a few suggestions for mannerly engagement as you exercise your right to vote:

1. As you approach the building in which you vote, you may be offered paper materials from campaign volunteers and workers. The proper response is "Yes, please" followed by "Thank you;" or, a simple "No, thank you" will do.

2. When checking in to received your ballot, speak clearly and pleasantly as you greet the Election Officer and hand over any necessary identification materials.

3. Make sure your telephone is on silent as you receive any instructions from the Election Officer.

4. VOTE in the manner instructed by the Election Officer(s).

5. As you leave, say "Thank you" to everyone who is facilitating the process - especially the person who gives you your "I Voted" sticker.

Bonus - It's nice to text or post a picture indicating that you've participated in Election Day as a way to gently remind your circle of friends and family that today is Election Day just in case they've forgotten.
