I am reading (and a little bit obsessed) with this book called the life-changing magic of tidying up - the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing by Marie Kondo. The method is known as "KonMari." I realize I'm a little to late to the party on this one but I'm delighted to have finally discovered it.

My biggest moment of enlightenment so far came when I read that essentially the intent and goal of a purge as identifying the things in your space that one wishes to keep - items that "spark joy!" so that in the end you will have curated a home that truly reflects you and allows you to feel joyous.

I love this homemaking concept. What a joy to create a lovely space by ensuring that it contains only what you love and/or need! In addition, as I prepare my house for our family life, upcoming social calls, teas, bridge parties and occasional meetings, I now have a new strategy for executing my vision.

One of the benefits of being late to the proverbial party is that there are loads of articles and videos available on the internet to serve as guidance and inspiration for me.

I'm so happy to have a plan of action for an uplifting and delightful project for January 20, 2017.

While some bits are not going to work for me, overall, I have to say that I highly recommend this book and philosophy as it will likely serve well in preparing a space that adds to the welcome and comfort for any visitor to our house.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Leverette
