Kate Gosselin is the mother of eight children - comprised of two 16 year old girls, three 12 year old girls and three 12 year old boys. She and her children are featured in a television series called Kate Plus Eight. It is a show that I've enjoyed watching for years as it combines topics in which I am interested such as parenting, household management, relationships, and travel/life experiences. Moreover, it's all presented in a PG way.

During this week's episode (Season 10, Episode 2 on TLC), the Gosselins attended an Etiquette Training Class. The class appeared to take place in a private room at a restaurant and seemed to focus on table manners specifically. At the end of the episode - after participating in a project rebuilding homes and visiting an insect museum, the family went to a elegant well-appointed restaurant and the children practiced their skills. Everyone knows that "practice makes perfect."

I was particularly impressed by the fact that the Etiquette Instructor commented that the children came in with some basic knowledge and indicated that he was (doing as I do) supporting the manners training they'd already received and building on that knowledge with more advanced skills based on their ages and anticipated life experiences.

I may or may not have squealed with delight.

I expect the Gosselin children will feel confident that they will be welcomed anywhere they go.

Well done, Gosselin Family!
